Instructions
Process for determining the communications status from Facility Map
In LightRules, click the Config tab and select Map to view the LightRules Facility Map. By default the Facility Map displays the rooms and zones within the facility.Move the slider in the top-left from Rooms to Status to view the communications status of each fixture. Communicating fixtures will display as green circles while non-communicating fixtures will display as yellow or red circles.
If a fixture has no light bars illuminating or status indicators blinking, then it is likely not communicating with LightRules. Referencing the location of malfunctioning fixtures within the facility to the location of yellow circles on the Light Layout map can be a useful method for determining fixture serial numbers without physically accessing the fixtures.
- Clicking a circle fixture status icon will expose a pop-up containing the fixture name in the top row.
- Click the fixture name (top row) to access a fixture information page containing the serial number
Process for pinging fixtures from Facility Map
- Clicking a circle fixture status icon will expose a pop-up containing the fixture name in the top row.
- Clicking the status circle in the pop-up will ping the fixture to check the communications status. If the ping is successful, then the communications status will return green with a "Ping success" message. If the ping fails, then the communications status will return red with a "Ping failed" message.
