How to determine the active profile in LightRules
Overview
A profile is a list of rules (active level, inactive level, delay time, etc.) for some or all configured zones. To take effect, the profile must be pushed manually or scheduled as a block in the calendar. When no profile is specified, the lights operate based upon the Default Profile.
The profiles controlling the lights can be determined by referencing the Now Active section of the Dashboard.

LightRules 3.X
The Active Profiles widget is located in the top-right of the LightRules Dashboard. It displays active and upcoming profiles throughout your facility. You can cancel profiles from here by hovering over the profile and selecting the gray "X."
The Now Active table displays all of the profiles that have been pushed via Manual Control or scheduled via the Calendar. The Default Profile is always listed as the bottom row. The Default Profile will control the lights if no profiles are scheduled or pushed manually. The below tips can be used to determine the profile controlling the lights:
- A Manual Control profile will override any Calendar profiles. Even if a Manual Control profile is listed in a row below Calendar profiles, the Manual Control profile will override the Calendar profiles
- The location of the profile in the Now Active table indicates the priority. When multiple profiles of the same type are listed in the Now Active table:
- A Manual Control profile has a higher priority than Manual Control profiles in rows below and a lower priority than Manual Control profiles listed in rows above
- A Calendar profile has a higher priority than Calendar profiles in rows below and a lower priority than Calendar profiles listed in rows above
- Clicking a Manual Control profile in the Now Active table will display the included zones and zone settings. All profiles can be viewed by clicking the Config tab and selecting Profiles
- A profile can contain all or some of the zones. Each zone is controlled by the highest priority profile containing the zone
LightRules 2.X
LightRules 2.X includes older versions of LightRules software installed on LRAs that shipped prior to 2016. The active profile rules from Lightrules 3.X are applicable in LR 2.X, however the interface is slightly different.
