Updating LightRules to include new Zones with Existing Profiles
Overview
This document describes how to add or modify zones into existing LightRules Profiles. This may take a few minutes, or may take longer, depending on how many zones you need to add.
Materials Needed
- LightRules Map File
- Commissioner Software Tool
- LightRules Appliance Access, with Username/Password
Workflow
Upload the Mapfile
- Download the existing map file to your computer
- Make sure you have Commissioner installed on your local machine. If you do not, download it here
- Open Commissioner
- Open the Map file in Commissioner
- Select the Zones tab at the bottom of the viewing window
- Add or modify zones as needed
- Save the Map file once you are done with step 7
Modify Profiles in LightRules
- Upload the new Map file you made in the previous section to LightRules by clicking the Config tab and selecting Manage Map File
- Once the Map file has been uploaded, navigate back to the main LightRules screen
- Select the Config tab, and then select Profiles
- Choose the profile you wish to modify
- There will be a link at the bottom to Edit Profile
- Click on the Add Rule button
- Select the Zone you wish to add to this profile
- You may do this as many times as you need to until you've added all the necessary Zones to this profile
- The Gang box allows you to modify multiple zones with the slider bar. Check it if you have multiple zones with the same settings and you wish to use the slider to modify them
- Set the Inactive Level using either the slider or by typing in the value
- Set the Active Level using either the slider or by typing in the value
- Note: Each light model has a different lumen output. Light outputs can be adjusted by changing the Active Level and Inactive Level settings for Zones in Profiles in order to achieve the desired light levels
- Example: A DLE-48 Light with an Active Level of 100 is the same as an RLE-P1 Light with an Active Level of 85
- Please refer to your Specification Sheets for the appropriate Light Levels of your lights, or reach out to Support if you have any issues with these values
- Set the Delay by typing in a value. This value is in seconds
- If you are using Coordinated Control, Check this box
- Press the Save button
- Repeat Step 4 and the sub-steps as needed until all Profiles have been modified with their new Zones
- You can reopen any Profile to ensure your settings were saved appropriately.
